Offered for sale here is without doubt the most authentically restored Austin Healey Sebring Sprites in existence.

410EAO is one of only six original Sprinzel Sebring Sprites - bodied in aluminium by Williams and Pritchard in early 1961.

Comprehensively restored some years ago by Sebring Sprite historian; Jonathan Whitehouse-Bird using only genuine period original or brand new "old stock" original parts.

410EAO was sold by John Sprinzel Ltd of Lancaster Mews, London in early 1961 to Andrew Hedges who then went on to compete in a full season of racing in England and in Europe in International competitions including the World Sportscar Championship ADAC Nürburgring 1000k, the Nürburgring 500k, Monthlhery Autodrome 1000k de Paris, the prestigious Autosport 3 hours and the GT race at the Aintree British Grand Prix among others.

Following a very successful season in 410EAO, Andrew Hedges was offered a BMC works drive for the following year. 410EAO went back to John Sprinzel, to then be sold on to fellow racer Les Arnold. The car has a continual and documented history to this day.

Andrew Hedges himself went on to compete around the World from 1962 as a professional driver in numerous other Austin Healey and MG cars in the World Sportscar Championship including the Sebring 12 hour, Le Mans 24 hour, the Targa Florio, the Nürburgring, the Tour de France, and the Tourist Trophy at Goodwood.

This very historic car clearly has a very fine pedigree indeed, one which will almost guarantee invitations and accepted entries into all of the best International competitions and events.

The care and attention to detail of the very long term restoration of this car is almost unique.

Only genuine new parts were sourced or if not available previously used parts restored to as new condition were used. Poor quality reproduction parts were never considered.

The end result was without doubt unique. This car is without doubt the most authentic and as original of the four known remaining "Sprinzel" Sprites.

It must be stressed however, this car was restored to replicate exactly how the car competed in 1961. It was not restored to be used in modern day competition although to covert into a historic FIA race car would indeed be an easy task. The specification of the car complies with the period homologation in great detail including the 960cc engine with SU H4 carburettors. To gain FIA HTP papers would be a formality, yet in fitting modern safety equipment much of the detail of originality and charm of the car might be lost.

410EAO today looks like a new car which has simply been stored and unused.

I have owned the car for several years, I have the greatest admiration for the car's history and the standard of restoration and it's authenticity.

However, the car is seldom driven.

I therefore would consider selling and I would be open to offers.
